This area is a very old friend of mine. I have lived for many years across the street from the Verde River and have hiked the distance along Comanche Road and then back along the river edge. I live several miles away now but will go back at times just to revisit and to dream and to photograph.

This is a walk that I have made hundreds of times since it is just outside the door of the house I had for 16 years. The house is for sale but I need to keep going on the walk anyway. It is a good bird place but it is also a site of many happy memories. The place is beautiful and looks like this: What more could I want?

This is a pair of American Kestrals. I love seeing pairs of  birds; it is so full of promise.

Speaking of pairs, this female Cardinal was with the male in the next picture.

The male Cardinal to match the female.

This is a song sparrow. I did not even know it was a sparrow when I took it.

A female Yellow-Rumped Warbler. I wonder why the original name was changed? It was simply Audubon's Warbler.

OK, so this is why it is called "Yellow-Rumped". Away he goes!

Here is the male Yellow-Rumped Warbler. I think I might stick to Audubon's. Seems nicer and is more fitting.
